Cathay Bank is pleased to announce  enhancements to some of our products and services, which will make it easier and more convenient for you to do business with us.  Most of these changes will be implemented on Monday, July 15, 2013.

On this page, you will find a preview of the advantages you can look forward to as well as detailed information to help guide you through the change process.

Cathay Online Banking allows our Personal Banking customers to manage their finances from the convenience of their electronic devices— home computer, smart phone, or tablet. You can check account balances, review history, transfer funds, and pay bills.

Cathay Online Banking will provide new features such as Financial Center and Personal Financial Manager, to help you better manage all your finances by enabling you to access information about your accounts at other U.S.-based financial institutions where you have online account access. The new Cathay Online Banking also provides enhanced security features to give you peace of mind when conducting transactions online.

Our new name for Banca de Negocio en Linea, will allow our business customers to experience enhanced security features while enjoying all of the current business services Cathay offers in an easier-to-navigate format. In the future, Cathay will continue to introduce new online features and functionality to help support your growing business needs.

If you are a current Banca de Negocio en Linea customer, you are encouraged to login to our new system from July 1, 2013 through July 12, 2013 during our Preview Period. During this time, you will experience the new Cathay Business Online Banking service that will become active on July 15, 2013. Current Banca de Negocio en Linea customers will be automatically converted to Cathay Business Online Banking, effective July 15, 2013.

Changes are also coming to Cathay Bank Telephone Banking. If you are currently enrolled in Telephone Banking, you will soon receive a letter which will provide default login information for your account and our new telephone banking system. As a reminder, when you dial into Telephone Banking for the first time on July 15, 2013 or later, you will be prompted to change your PIN.

 Here’s what you need to know:
  • Changes affecting your Cathay Bank accounts and related services will take effect on Monday, July 15, 2013, unless otherwise noted.
  • Branches will close at 3:00 p.m. local time Friday, July 12, 2013 and will re-open on Monday, July 15, 2013 at their regular time. Branches which are normally open on weekends will not be open Saturday, July 13, 2013 or Sunday, July 14, 2013; however, you may still use our branch ATMs and your Cathay Bank  ATM/Debit card on July 13, 2013 and July 14, 2013 when the branches are closed.
  • Telephone Banking will not be available from 3:00 p.m. PT on Friday, July 12, 2013 until 5:00 a.m. PT on Monday, July 15, 2013.
  • Any of your regularly scheduled direct deposits or transfers will continue without interruption, and you may continue to use your accounts as you currently do.
  • Beginning July 12, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. PT and continuing through July 15, 2013 at 5:00 a.m. PT, we will be implementing our new online banking and online bill payment systems. You will be unable to access online banking and bill pay during this time.  Please note that Online BillPay will not be available from 3:00 p.m. PT on July 11, 2013 to 5:00 a.m. PT on July 15, 2013.
