For Hurricane-impacted Customers

Houston Branch deposit account customers

Cathay Bank will automatically waive or refund the following fees on deposit accounts through September 30, 2017, for its Houston customers:

•  ATM surcharge fees charged by other financial institutions and Cathay Bank service charge fees for card transactions made at non-Cathay Bank ATMs
•  Overdraft fees
•  Monthly Maintenance Charge fees


We encourage you to use our convenient online banking and mobile banking services, which allow you to access your account information anytime, pay bills and automatically transfer funds between your deposit accounts at Cathay Bank. In addition, you can easily make deposits to your Cathay Bank accounts using Cathay Bank’s mobile banking service. Setting up direct deposit can also give you easy access to your funds. And our Houston Branch ATM is available 24/7 to serve your needs.


Loan customers impacted by Hurricane Harvey

If you are unable to make your loan payment, please contact our Special Assets Department at 1-888-868-8896 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, to discuss your options. Cathay Bank will waive the late charges and suspend reporting to the credit bureaus for 3 months during this time.


If your property sustained damage and you have flood insurance, contact our Loan Servicing Department/Insurance Division to obtain instructions for loss insurance claim process at 1-800-9CATHAY (1-800-922-8429), option 1-4-4. You can also refer to our Guide for Submitting Insurance Loss Claim Check.


If your property sustained damage and you did not have flood insurance, loan assistance from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may be available to you. Their website is www.fema.gov/nfip-file-your-claim.
