  • Cathay Bank is dedicated to protecting your personal information. We use a variety of technologies and techniques to help ensure that our products and services remain secure.
  • Text Banking does not send any User IDs or Passwords as part of this service.
  • As part of the activation process, Cathay Bank works hard to ensure that the customer enrolling in Text Banking is the one holding the mobile device or cell phone. Cathay Bank will send an unique Activation Code as a text message to the mobile device to confirm we can communicate with that specific mobile device or cell phone. You must enter this Activation Code to complete your activation.

  • Step 1 - Login into Cathay Online Banking, and click on the Customer Service tab.  Click on Manage mobile banking settings under Account Maintenance.

  • Step 2 - In the new window click on the Enroll Mobile Device link.  Follow the instructions on the screen, and we'll send you a text message with a unique activation code that you'll need to enter to complete the process (this is to protect you from fraudsters attempting to access your account). Once verified, select your preferences, and you’re done!

  • Step 3 - You may start texting now.  Just send a text message to 79680 whenever you want, and we'll send the response right back to your phone (it's just like texting your friends!) Here is the list of available commands you can text:

Help HE or HELP or INFO Help content for SMS Text Banking.
History H or HIST Summary of recent transactions per account, in descending order by date (i.e., most recent transactions first).
H <Text BankingAcctNumber> History shortcut for a specific account.
Login L or Login Receive a URL for Cathay Bank’s Mobile Browser website.
More M or MORE or NEXT If there are additional messages available from an initial command request, this command will display the next message.
Request Activation R or REQUEST ACTIVATION This command is used to retrieve the mobile web URL so that the web mode of mobile banking can be reactivated if the user has deleted the cookie from their device browser.
